From Chemist to SaaS Content Marketer.
This is how it happened …
This is how it happened …
Content Estate started when I embraced the hard truth
That truth? There are limited or no jobs, even for the Eficos.
I needed a solution fast, or I was toast.
**Efico (Slang) – A brilliant Nigerian student.
Me simulating my year 2017 frustration😀 during my Master’s program.
My solution was cooking and I could smell it
As a hell-bent Efico, I planned to study like crazy during my first semester and do something that’ll pay my bills in the second semester. Everything fell into place and I had a steaming-hot result.
During my second semester, I often saw my roommate up at night. He will gaze and type on his laptop for hours.
Who sacrifices sleep if it isn’t profitable? After bugging him for about 2 weeks, he finally gave up and said he was a freelance writer.
I never knew what freelancing was, but I jumped on the train.
Independence gift came early
After one month of freelancing on a freelance website, I had no clients. Zilch. Nada. Not even one.
On October 1, 2017, I got my first job on Nigeria’s independence day. I was apprehensive about whether the client will like the outcome. He did!
Progress
While on the freelance platform, I worked with clients from the US, UK, Australia, Singapore, Canada, Poland, Germany, and France, to name a few. Among the projects I did are blogs, ebooks, lead magnets, web copy, sales copy, and more. I once had a 9 months contract to produce over 200 SEO blog posts for a Microsoft Excel brand.
Since 2017, I have honed my skills and become an all-around digital marketer with a focus on content strategy, content writing and copywriting.
